Job summary

The W Group is seeking a Head Chef for weekends in New York to lead our kitchen for Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. You will prepare nourishing meals for residents, ensure diets and allergies are respected, and maintain a safe, clean kitchen.

You’ll supervise dietary aides, follow standardized recipes, manage portions, and support a positive dining experience. A high school diploma, culinary experience, and a Food Handler Certification are required or obtainable on hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in culinary or food service; senior living/healthcare is a plus.
• Experience leading a kitchen shift preferred.
• Food Handler Certification required or able to obtain upon hire.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and allergy management.
• Strong attention to detail and resident-focused communication.
• Reliability to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Service following recipes and menus.
• Serve food per diet and allergy lists; manage textures.
• Ensure proper sampling, temps, and sanitation during service.
• Lead dietary aides and staff during meal prep and service.
• Maintain records and safety standards in the kitchen and dining area.
