Jackson College in Michigan seeks a part-time supervisor for the weight room, fieldhouse, Jets Air Station. You will supervise equipment use, promote fitness programs, assist HPF faculty, and deliver outstanding customer service to students and patrons.
You will handle check-in/out, maintain cleanliness, report equipment issues, ensure CPR/First Aid readiness, and follow safety guidelines. This role requires evening and weekend hours and a customer-focused, safety-driven approach.
Supervise the College weight room facility, fieldhouse, Jets Air Station. Work in coordination with Health & Physical Fitness (HPF) faculty, Life time Learning (LTL) instructors, front desk staff and gym monitors to offer outstanding customer service and ensure the safety of those using the Victor Cuiss Field House and Jets Air Station.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Internal: Frequent contact with faculty, staff, coaches, and administrators within Student Services, Health and Physical Fitness, JPEC and other departments in an educational and information-sharing capacity.
External: Frequent contact with students and patrons to provide encouragement and direction in the area of recreation and fitness.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associates degree; or one- or two-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or become certified within 30 days of hiring.
Knowledge of personal computers and software including word processing and spreadsheets
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Good command of grammar.
Ability to calculate addition and subtraction and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
