Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a highly qualified nurse practitioner to provide specialty and critical care services in an inpatient setting. The role includes rounding on inpatients from early weekday hours, with weekend coverage and on-call evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.

The incumbent will perform comprehensive assessments, order studies, interpret results, and coordinate discharge planning within CRNP scope and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• MSN from an approved program and NP licensure.
• National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners.
• Prescriptive Authority within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive inpatient patient care with daily rounds and discharge planning.
• Orders and interprets labs and imaging; collaborates with physicians on treatment plans.
• Institute emergency measures and stabilize acute patients.
• Document all encounters accurately in the EMR for coding and billing.
• Coordinate care with families and interdisciplinary team; educate patients and families.
• Communicate plan of care with attending physician and ensure safety initiatives.
• Participate in patient safety and quality improvement efforts.
