Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide specialty inpatient care with 24/7 coverage in acute and chronic conditions. The role emphasizes rounds, evidence-based treatment plans, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Required MSN and NP certification, state licensure, prescriptive authority, and relevant emergency/critical care experience. The position involves on-site hospital work with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• MSN from an approved State Board program and NP licensure.
• National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners.
• Prescriptive authority within 60 days of hire.
• DEA licensure within 60 days of hire.
• CPR certification per American Heart Association.
• Background clearances for healthcare employment.
• Ongoing recertification as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care with daily rounds and patient-specific treatment plans.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostics to guide care decisions.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans.
• Initiate emergency measures and stabilize acute patient situations.
• Document all encounters accurately in the EMR for billing and care continuity.
• Coordinate care with patients, families, and community services.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and self-care strategies.
• Communicate care plans with the attending physician and involve leadership as needed.
• Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement programs.
• Perform hospital rounds and execute physician orders with professional standards.
