Job summary

Healthier Mississippi People is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care in a clinical area. The role coordinates patient scheduling, records, admissions, and interdepartmental communication to ensure smooth service delivery.

Candidates must have an RN license. Duties include educating patients and families, charting accurately, and acting as a preceptor per hospital guidelines. Weekend hour agreements are required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions for patients.
• Educates patients and possibly family members on condition, treatment, medications and schedules.
• Ensures the safety of patients.
• Coordinates referrals to other services within and outside of the unit.
• Maintains accurate patient records.
• Functions as a preceptor per UMMC guidelines.
• Reports patient issues or concerns to supervisor.
• Participates in committees or projects to improve patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
