Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse Inpatient to deliver care on a 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., Friday through Sunday, with an $8 per hour weekend differential.

The RN inpatient collaborates with patients, families and the health care team, plans and documents care, and uses evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
• Current State of Illinois RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• A clinically competent, registered nurse who assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for acutely ill patients.
• Coordinate with patients, families and health team members in accordance with ANA standards.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate progress.
• Direct care and manage any assistants involved in patient care.
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians and staff; document plans and outcomes.
• Participate in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Document patient responses and tailor plans based on evaluation.
• Utilize evidence to guide practice decisions.
