Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist for weekend coverage on a part-time basis. You will provide direct patient care, participate in teaching, and contribute to department processes while upholding the organization’s ethics and compliance standards.

Responsibilities include managing patient plans of care, documenting progress, and collaborating with PT/PTA teams to optimize outcomes within a busy hospital setting in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Illinois.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the four NM values of teamwork, patients first, integrity, and excellence in daily work and interactions.
• Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
• Maintains primary responsibility over patient plan of care through timely and consistent collaboration with treating PT/PTA(s).
• Completes daily notes that reflect patient’s response to treatment and status, for discharge planning.
• Participates in department processes and special projects in accordance with clinical expertise.
• Works to develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare teams and participates in internal/external marketing as required.
• Demonstrates willingness to flex schedule or assignment to meet patient care needs.
