Lighthouse Hospice Care is seeking a Weekend Hospice On Call Registered Nurse to provide after-hours and weekend nursing care in patients' homes, responding quickly to urgent needs and guiding symptom management at end of life.
You will perform assessments, administer medications, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, educate families, and document care in the EMR while maintaining compassionate support for patients and loved ones.
Saturdays 8am-8pm, $43.00-$48.00 per hour BOE.
Primary functions are to administer nursing care for patients of all ages in their place of residence after hours and/or on weekends. The On Call Registered Nurse will be responsible for responding to urgent patient and family needs, managing symptom control, and providing support during end-of-life care. This role requires a timely response to calls, effective clinical assessment, and the ability to work independently.
Graduate from an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
Current state license as a registered nurse (RN) and/or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact. Current driver’s license.
Experience as a registered nurse in a clinical care setting. Hospice experience preferred.
Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills. Specialized skills preferred in palliation and end-of-life. Must read, write, and comprehend English.
Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
Works in patients’ homes and facilities in various conditions; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases; ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Effort: Prolonged standing and walking required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move patients. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs, and to make quick decisions and resource acquisition; meet patient and family individualized psychosocial needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
