Job summary
Mountain Valley Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our weekend admissions team in Winston-Salem. The role covers Friday–Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a focus on initial patient assessments, admissions, and care planning in a hospice setting.
The ideal candidate holds an active RN license with hospice or palliative care experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficiency with EHRs. We offer flexible weekend scheduling, competitive hourly pay, and a supportive multidisciplinary
Qualifications
- Current RN license required; hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with EHR systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial admissions assessments for weekend patients.
- Provide empathetic support and education to patients and families about hospice services.
- Coordinate with physicians, social workers, and other professionals for seamless transitions.
- Administer medications and manage symptoms per clinical standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely admission and care-plan documentation.
