Job summary

BrightStar Care of Iowa is seeking a part-time Weekend Package Registered Nurse to conduct initial assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide ongoing clinical oversight for home-based clients, including those receiving home infusion therapy. The role requires IV therapy, vascular access care, and education for clients and families.

Travel within the greater Des Moines area is expected, with weekend coverage and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote quality,

Qualifications

• Active Iowa Registered Nurse license in good standing with BLS/CPR.
• Home health, infusion, hospice, or geriatric nursing experience.
• IV therapy experience including peripheral IV and central line care.
• Proficiency in patient education, wound care, and documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients and teams.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases with sound clinical judgment.
• Travel within the greater Des Moines area and home environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing clinical assessments and develop plans of care.
• Administer IV medications and therapies and monitor patient status.
• Start and maintain IVs; manage PICC lines and ports as needed.
• Program and troubleshoot infusion pumps and ensure infusion safety.
• Educate clients and caregivers on disease management and home care procedures.
• Provide weekend clinical coverage and support for field staff.
