Job summary

Comer Health & Rehab is seeking a part-time weekend associate to support kitchen operations and patient meal service. You will assist cooks, prepare desserts, carry trays, and help with nourishments while adhering to safety and infection control policies.

Weekly pay, PTO, paid holidays, and benefits such as vision insurance, a 401(k) with match, and a referral program are offered. Strong communication and a patient-first attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalence preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook in preparing desserts or snacks for patients.
• Assists cook in preparation of meals.
• Carries trays to patients on halls.
• Cleans tables in the dining area after each meal.
• Helps with salads, desserts and other dishes.
• Assists with pouring juice, milk, water and tea.
• Serves patients beverages and meals.
• Prepares between-meal nourishments.
• Cleans kitchen and dining areas after shifts.
• Operates dish machine and hoods; maintains sanitation per policies.
• Records temperatures for storage areas and checks stock as needed.
• Follows diet orders and records substitutions as required.
• Promotes a positive image of the system through communication and teamwork.
