Job summary

WTOC is looking for a full‑time meteorologist to join the First Alert Weather Team in Savannah. You will cover weekend newscasts and provide engaging weather content across platforms, including streaming and digital channels.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in meteorology or related field and at least two years on‑air experience. You will work with The Weather Company tools and collaborate with a weather team in a fast-paced market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in meteorology or related field.
• At least two years on-air meteorologist experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Weather forecasting tools and working as part of a weather team.

Responsibilities

• Forecast and deliver engaging weather segments for weekend newscasts.
• Produce and anchor weather segments for WTOC+, streaming and digital platforms.
• Create dynamic weather content for WTOC social media channels.
• Update website and mobile apps with accurate forecast information.
• Research and pitch live weather segments for weekday shifts.
• Collaborate with First Alert Weather team during severe weather coverage.
• Fill in for other meteorologists as needed.
