Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a Weekend Shift Urgent Field Support (UFS) Senior Engineer in the Engineering Field Support group at GA-ASI in Poway, CA.

The role involves rapid problem solving for fielded systems, writing clear memorandums, and coordinating with design, test, and maintenance teams. The incumbent will provide on-site support, travel as needed, and ensure findings and platform improvements are documented for customers and internal staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related technical field and progressive engineering experience (4+ years with a Bachelor's, 2+ years with a Master's).
• Broad understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering concepts and applications.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them in evolving environments.
• Proficient technical writing skills (a writing sample may be requested).
• Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work weekend shift with on-call support and 4‑10 schedule (Fri–Mon alternating).
• Investigate anomalies and direct corrective actions with cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain knowledge of GA‑ASI aircraft, GCS, and related hardware and procedures.
• Author engineering memorandums and presentations for customers and leadership.
• Lead and direct activities of designers and technicians as needed.
• Travel on-site support as required and maintain confidentiality.
