Job summary

Assurant is seeking a supervisor-level training and production-support role at our Irving, TX DCC. You will work with Supervisors to train and develop the team, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to work instructions and quality controls on the shop floor.

The role is onsite with a Fri-Sun, 6:00 am–6:30 pm schedule. You will coordinate resources, participate in stand-ups and meetings, and collaborate across departments to resolve issues, conduct 6S audits, and provide on-the-job training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment is required.
• Forklift certification if needed for area of responsibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading.

Responsibilities

• Work with Supervisors to allocate resources to meet customer goals.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor.
• Attend internal and external customer or vendor meetings.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper workflow.
• Serve as point of contact for employees for escalation issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues.
• Maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes.
• Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits.
• Implement changes on the production floor based on audits.
• Provide on-the-job refresher training and workstation assessments.
• Monitor inventory levels and KPI/SLA performance; escalate issues.

Job description

This job is responsible for working with the Supervisors and assisting in training and developing the team, monitoring production performance, ensuring production and quality controls are met while adhering to the work instructions for the area of responsibility.

This is an onsite role in our Irving, TX DCC with a schedule of Friday through Sunday 6 am to 6:30 pm.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Working knowledge of shop floor systems (CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost)
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor
• Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings
• Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer goals
• Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved
• Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues
• Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues
• Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes
• Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits
• Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits
• Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and work station assessment
• Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility
• Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and elevate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or another applicable environment is preferred
• Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility
• Training environment experience
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading

Environmental/ physical demands

• Occasional: Bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery, and office machinery.
• This position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and operate.

• Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, lift, carry and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Pay Range

$17.34 - $27.75
