Job summary

ZooTampa in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time Coordinator of Event Productions to support consumer events, internal meetings, and member events. The role requires weekend and night work during peak events season and involves on-site coverage to ensure smooth execution.

You will assist with installation, timelines, and AV needs while maintaining event documentation and coordinating with staff and vendors. A background in hospitality or event-related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• A.A. in hospitality, event management, communication, business, or related field is required.
• Basic A/V knowledge is preferred.
• Experience in hospitality, attractions, and/or theatre is preferred.
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences with professionalism and tact.
• Discretion with confidential information related to ZooTampa events and development efforts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a hands-on team.
• Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work in labor-intensive outdoor environments including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assists with installation and strike of all consumer events.
• Collaborate with Zoo staff to develop timelines, operating guidelines, and plans for consumer events.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all consumer events to preserve institutional knowledge.
• Maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
• Ensure timely communication with guests, staff, and Zoo leadership for seamless event execution.
• Assist with Costume Character program and host duties as needed.
• Assist with Zoo-wide audio/visual needs and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure adequate inventory of event supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
