Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an EHS Specialist to support weekend manufacturing operations at the Gulfport, MS site. The role focuses on safety walkthroughs, incident documentation, and coordinating corrective actions with the EHS team.

The position requires a high school diploma, ability to work Thu–Sun shifts, and basic MS Office skills. Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to maintain accurate records are essential for maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work Thu–Sun reliably and complete onboarding.
• Basic computer proficiency with MS Office and data entry.
• Ability to read and follow written procedures and complete checklists.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and professional communication.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and elevate concerns promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete safety training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety walkthroughs using checklists and report hazards promptly.
• Complete routine checks of emergency equipment and report deficiencies.
• Maintain inspection records, training attendance, PPE logs, and corrective files.
• Follow up with weekend supervisors on open findings and update actions.
• Notify designated supervisors and EHS of injuries, near misses, spills, and unsafe conditions.
• Support safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training scheduling.
• Monitor supplies of PPE, first aid materials, safety forms, and signage.
• Prepare written weekend handoff documenting results and outstanding concerns.
• Perform related clerical and safety support tasks.
