Job summary

Fort Gibson Care & Rehab Center is hiring Certified Medication Aides for weekend openings, offering competitive pay, PTO, holidays with premium pay, tuition reimbursement, and 401(k) with match. The role involves administering medications, monitoring residents, and collaborating with licensed nurses to ensure safe, high‑quality care.

This full‑time position requires Oklahoma CMA/CNA certifications, strong communication, and the ability to work 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid CNA and CMA certification in Oklahoma.
  • Six months experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Must communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform resident care per policies and procedures and state/federal regulations.
  • Administer medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
  • Record all medications accurately in the resident chart and system.
  • Respond to resident call lights and monitor patient comfort and safety.
  • Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition to licensed staff.

Hiring for Full-Time Weekend Double Openings:
Saturday & Sunday
  • 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM

Essential Functions of Certified Medication Aide (CMA):
  • Performs resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort consistent with Company Clinical Policies and Procedures as well as state/federal guidelines and regulations
  • Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with center policy
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of "five rights" of medication administration
  • Administers and records all medication given to residents based upon their specific chart
  • Notifies appropriate licensed staff when a resident complains of pain.
  • May take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications
  • Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately, utilizing the computer system to enter and reference resident information as needed
  • Answers resident call lights, anticipates resident’s needs and makes rounds to assigned resident under the supervision of a licensed nurse or charge nurse on the shift
  • Observes for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift
  • Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
  • Support and maintains a culture of safety and quality
  • Administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with center policy
  • Reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications of Certified Medication Aide (CMA):
  • High School diploma or general equivalency is preferred
  • Required valid certification as a CNA & CMA in the state of Oklahoma
  • Six months experience in a long‑term care environment is preferred
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Additional languages preferred
