Job summary

Catholic Charities-Dept For Persons With Disabilities (DPD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor (DSP) for a part-time weekend shift in Succasunna, NJ. You will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes, helping with daily living activities and safety.

The role requires a HS diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to document care and assist with medications.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• Must meet physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and emergency procedures.
• Criminal background, references, DMV checks and pre-employment screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of residents in the group home.
• Assist and supervise individuals in personal care, bathing and toileting, and life skills.
• Administer or assist with medication administration as directed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs using agency vehicles.
• Document daily services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.
