Job summary

Gallagher Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join a Catholic Charities program in Baltimore. The role focuses on supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities, fostering independence and meaningful relationships.

The DSP will work 20 hours per week, every other weekend, 9 AM to 9 PM, and may involve driving, care tasks, and coordination with day programs and medical appointments.

Qualifications

• High school education or better.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Provide total care including daily hygiene, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and transportation.
• Assist with medications and doctor appointments as needed.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care.
• Advocate for rights and build confidence and self-esteem.
