Job summary

Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking per diem Dietetic Technicians to support nutrition services in our skilled nursing facility. You will work closely with dietary, food and nutrition services and the interdisciplinary care team to promote residents' health and well-being.

Applicants should be available for the 7:00am–6:00pm weekend shift and have strong communication skills to assist residents with menus and therapeutic diet adjustments.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition required.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with dietary and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Receives, verifies and maintains accuracy of all diet orders.
• Gives menus to new admissions and retrieves communication sheets.
• Modifies resident/patient menus according to therapeutic needs.
• Assists residents/patients with menus as needed.
• Enters menus into Geri Menu, nutrition computer program.
• Posts weekly menus on units.
• Prints and separates daily meal tickets.
