Job summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Tech position at Northwestern Medicine's Lake Forest Hospital is a casual, part-time role offering 16 hours per week with a Saturday-Sunday schedule, 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

You will assist patients and radiology staff, verify patient identity, help transport and prepare exams, and support radiologists during imaging procedures while maintaining safety and infection control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assists and interacts with patients in the radiology department.
• Verifies patient identity using two identifiers.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Greets patients, families and visitors in the radiology area.
• Maintains communication between patients and radiology staff.
• Prepares patients for exams and escorts them to exam rooms.
• Positions and immobilizes patients for exams.
• Assists radiologists and technologists in acquiring quality exams.
• Assists with minor procedures and IV tubing used for contrast.
• Assists radiologist with interventional procedures.
• Compiles exams for reading by radiologist.
• Attends to the care of documents related to the patient.
• Performs related tasks to support radiology operations.
• Prepares exam rooms; stocks and cleans rooms after each exam.
