Job summary

Valmont Industries in Columbus, NE is seeking an Experienced Welder for the Weekend Day Shift. You will weld metal components to blueprints and layouts using MIG and other arc weld processes, and ensure quality through precise measurements.

The role requires reading tape measures, following written instructions, and maintaining high safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Training Weekdays precede weekend rotation, with full-time hours and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED or welding trade school certification.
• MIG welding experience preferred; able to read blueprints and layouts.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions.
• Strong teamwork and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components to fabricate/repair per blueprints or layouts.
• Lay out guidelines on metal parts and cut with a torch.
• Weld structural components for poles, substations and structures.
• Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
• Move pole shafts with an overhead crane and gather parts.
• Follow safety rules and wear protective gear.
• Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
