Job summary

City of Amarillo is seeking a Custodian to perform general building care at Warford Center, including floor care, sweeping, dusting, mopping, glass cleaning, and restroom upkeep. The role supports a clean, safe facility and requires weekend shifts: Saturday and Sunday 8:00a-5:00p, 16 hours per week, with events as needed.

The successful candidate will safely mix and handle cleaning chemicals, follow SDS procedures, and assist in inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, strips, waxes, spray buffs and power washes floors.
• Vacuums carpet, dusts furniture and walls, and cleans fixtures.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
• Power wash locker rooms and showers.
• Empties trash containers and disposes of trash.
• Cleans glass doors, windows, display cases, desk tops and telephones.
• Replaces light bulbs and cleans fixtures as needed.
• Performs snow removal at entrances and walkways adjacent to the building.
• Recognize safety hazards and concerns and take appropriate action to correct.
• Safely mixes and handles various cleaning chemicals, and is responsible for knowledge of SDS procedures.
• Assists in inspection of building for acceptable level of safety and cleanliness.
