Job summary

Malvern Treatment Centers in Malvern, PA is seeking a Full Time Counselor to work 2/3 days during the week with an every other weekend obligation, with Monday–Friday during non-weekend weeks. The counselor will provide assessments, create treatment plans, and support clients with chemical dependencies.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree or higher (or equivalent), is a certified Addictions Counselor, and licensed if an RN.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field preferred; will accept Bachelor's or Associate's with corresponding experience.
• One to two years of clinical experience in health or human services, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
• Knowledge of 12-step recovery and an understanding of chemical dependency.
• Able to provide individual counseling as well as group therapy.
• Must have full state certification as Addictions Counselor and licensure if RN.

Responsibilities

• Administers assessments, establishes and revises individualized treatment goals, and participates in diagnostic summaries.
• Documents patient progress to support UR and treatment plans.
• Provides information at case conferences and participates in ongoing educational process.
• Maintains family contacts and communicates with patient’s families.
• Delivers lectures and workshops and conducts group therapy.
• Performs discharge summaries and aftercare planning.
• Involves patients in treatment planning and ensures appropriate level of care (ASAM).
• Keeps referral sources updated on patient progress.
