Job summary

The W Group in New York is seeking a dedicated Cook / Dietary Aide to join our kitchen team. This role primarily covers Cook duties, with Dietary Aide responsibilities on select days, working evenings and weekends to support resident dining.

You will follow recipes, manage food production, assist residents with meals, and maintain a clean, compliant kitchen environment following health standards. Immediate availability and a supportive team culture are highlighted in this opportunity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Culinary or food service experience required.
• One year of institutional food service experience is a plus.
• Prior experience working with a vulnerable population is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to follow federal and state regulations regarding food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food.
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours.
• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and workstation.
• Meet federal and state health department standards and codes for proper food storage, handling, and preparation.
• Set up tables and other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order (Dietary Aide duties).
• Deliver dishes and trays to residents (Dietary Aide duties).

This role primarily covers Cook duties, with Dietary Aide responsibilities on select days, so we're looking for someone comfortable moving between both the back of house and resident dining areas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
