Job Overview

Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care for individuals on their journey to recovery from substances. Our team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are seeking a skilled and empathetic Weekend Cook to join our mission-driven team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, knowledge of Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health a plus!

Duties:

1. Supervise the preparation and serving of food for at least 26 clients.
2. Follow menu according to approved dietary and nutritional standards.
3. Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for scheduled meal times.
4. Prepare written orders for cooks on other shifts, if needed.
5. Clean kitchen and storage areas daily including cleaning grill, dish washing and putting things away, supervising client assistants, inspect and organize refrigerator daily.

Qualifications:

1. Experience as a cook, able to handle all phases of kitchen management, planning, and cooking.
2. One year as an institutional cook preferred.
3. Must be dependable, reliable, and able to communicate verbal and written directions.
4. Must have current food handlers card.
5. First Aid/CPR certified or willingness to obtain certification.
6. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
