Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues across production equipment. The role emphasizes PLC programming with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/5000, servo control, and coordinating with the CEPG for machine improvements.

The position trains on day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to the Weekend shift. The ideal candidate will have 2 years in a related role, an associate degree in a technical field, and the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems; modify programming as needed.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the plant ERP/EAM system.
• Use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/5000.
• Operate and troubleshoot servo motors, DC motors, and induction motors.
• Set up and monitor VFD operations and parameters.

Work Location: 9820 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66109 Job Overview:

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Work Schedule:

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Highlights of your role:

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.

Compensation:

$28.00 - $42.00/hr, based on experience + $3 shift differential
