Job summary

Marvin is hiring a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems on production equipment. The role includes setting up servo controls, VFDs, and motor troubleshooting, with duties documented in the EAM system, and collaboration with the CEPG for improvements.

Training on day shift for up to two months before transitioning to the Weekend shift; 2 years’ related experience and an associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical field strongly preferred.
• Must obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and MS Office required.

Responsibilities

• Observe installed equipment to detect hazards and maintenance needs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC-related issues using ladder logic.
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance in the work order system (EAM).
• Operate and configure servo controls and VFDs; basic motor troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with CEPG for machine improvements and PLC support across plant.

Work Location: 9820 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66109 Job Overview:

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Work Schedule:

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Highlights of your role:

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.

• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses

Compensation:

$28.00 - $42.00/hr, based on experience + $3 shift differential
