Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems on production equipment in an air-conditioned Kansas City facility. The role involves using Allen-Bradley RSLogix, documenting repairs in the EAM system, and supporting machine reliability.

The position starts on day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to a weekend shift. A sign-on bonus applies.

Qualifications

• 2-years experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Observe installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and need for service, repair or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/5000.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the work order system (EAM).
• Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff.
• Maintain backups of programs for electrical devices.
• Check new equipment to evaluate performance under operating conditions.
• Set up servo controls, open/closed loop systems and VFD parameters.
• Perform motor operation and troubleshooting on servo, DC and induction motors.
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements and provide PLC support.
• Concisely document set-points and parameters.

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Work Schedule:

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Highlights of your role:

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.

• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.

Compensation:

$28.00 - $42.00/hr, based on experience + $3 shift differential
