Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for the weekend shift (Friday–Sunday). This role involves reading blueprints, setting up CNC lathes and mills, loading programs, and performing in-process inspection to ensure quality. U.S.

citizenship or valid permanent residency is required for eligibility. The role covers diverse tasks from fixture selection to tool offsets and documentation, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and adherence to ITAR/compliance policies.

Qualifications

• Review and study MOTs, blueprints and sketches to determine operations.
• Determine fixtures, tools, attachments, programs and gauges needed.
• Set up machines, install tools and verify tool offsets for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Load programs into the CNC, check tool order, and edit as needed.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or tol deviations.
• Set up inspection methods for all machined parts and communicate with team.
• Perform in-process inspections and document MOTs, DMRs and First Article records.
• Record non-conforming parts and verify quantity and part numbers.
• Maintain clean, safe workspace and report machine issues to lead.
