Job summary

Gurwin Healthcare System is seeking a certified CNAs to join our team on weekend schedules (Saturday and Sunday) in Commack, NY. You will assist with activities of daily living, bedside care, andResident comfort under licensed nurse supervision.

Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, vital signs, and reporting changes. Prior long-term care experience and CPR certification are preferred; current NYS CNA registration is required.

Qualifications

Current certification in New York State Nurse Aide Registry (not expired or lapsed).
No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, exploitation, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property listed on the Registry against them.
One year long-term care experience and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists with personal care services and ADLs for residents under supervision of a licensed nurse.
Bathing, grooming, oral hygiene and basic comfort duties as required.
Toileting assistance including bedpans and urinals; assist with meals and mobility.
Maintain cleanliness of non-patient areas and assist with admission/discharge procedures.
Answer call lights, observe patient condition, and report changes to nursing staff.
Record intake/output, temperatures, pulses, and respirations; obtain routine specimens.
