Job summary

The Village for Families and Children in Hartford, CT is seeking a Sub-Acute Crisis Stabilization Child Development Specialist. This entry-level, part-time role supports children with behavioral health needs within a multi-disciplinary team and emphasizes safety, supervision, and supportive care.

Starting at $20.50 per hour with weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 7am-3pm), the position requires a high school diploma or GED and a drive-ready license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred; Associates Degree or High School diploma considered.
• Valid driver's license and related certifications required.
• Three years in human services or experience with special needs children.
• Knowledge of basic child development and effects of abuse/neglect.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of children using supervision and therapeutic techniques.
• Maintain a clean, dignified milieu environment.
• Serve as a healthy role model.
• Demonstrate problem solving to aid growth and maturity.
