JOURNEYS | The Road Home in Palatine, IL is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Center Support Associate. This role supports the center on Saturdays and Sundays mornings, greeting visitors, assisting clients and volunteers, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
You will document activities, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with staff to provide services to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. A compassionate, team-focused mindset is essential.
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Schedule: 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday mornings

Our Weekend Center Support Associate works part-time on Saturday and Sunday mornings to help keep the center running smoothly and assist during any emergencies. You'll greet visitors as they arrive, form positive connections with clients, help volunteers find the right places to go and people to talk to, and coordinate with staff to help make the daily operations seamless. Attentively, you'll accurately record daily activities and document any incidents that occurred during your shift. You'll answer questions, address concerns, and swiftly respond to any emergencies. Assisting with additional responsibilities as needed, you'll make a positive impact every weekend!
Active listening skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities would be valuable. Creative problem-solving skills and strategies for healthily managing stressors would be beneficial. A commitment to being there for all individuals in the center and maintaining confidentiality would also be ideal.
