Job summary

Senior Helpers of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking compassionate weekend caregivers to support seniors in their homes in the Grand Rapids area. Weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday) with opportunities for weekend-only or weekend plus mid-week hours are available. Starting pay ranges from $16-$18/hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license with no serious driving violations.
• Reliable transportation available during assignments.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level.
• Ability to complete all required health screenings.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment.
• Proof of First Aid and CPR certification within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Assist with eating and daily living activities; monitor Alzheimer's/Dementia care.
• Provide mobility assistance and transfers; escort to bed.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, meals, and organization.
• Companionship and emotional support; promote engagement.
• Transportation using client vehicle; run errands and accompany to appointments.
• Medication reminders per policy.
• Prepare sleeping areas and assist during the night as needed; report overnight needs.
