Job summary

Senior Helpers of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Home Care Aide/Caregiver to support seniors in their own homes across northern Kent County and surrounding communities. This role offers part-time and full-time opportunities with weekday, weekend, overnights, and on-call shifts.

Starting pay ranges from $16 to $18 per hour, based on experience. As the face of our organization, you’ll provide personal care, companionship, transportation support, and detailed documentation while maintaining

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license with no serious violations
• Reliable transportation available during assignments
• Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level
• Successful completion of required training and skills assessments
• Ability to complete health screenings
• Criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment
• First Aid and CPR certification within 3 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Ambulation, mobility assistance, and walking support
• Light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
• Household organization and management
• Meal planning and preparation
• Companionship and meaningful engagement with clients
• Transportation using the client’s vehicle and accompanying appointments
• Medication reminders per company policies
• Overnight care when applicable and reporting overnight needs
• Documentation of services and accurate timekeeping
