Johnson Controls in San Antonio is seeking a Weekend Brazer to support the fit up, fabrication, and brazing of components for multiple models. The role requires passing brazing tests on various metals and reading production drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

The position offers weekend hours from Friday to Sunday, with pay ranging from $18.50 to $20.50 per hour plus a shift premium. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, and a benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-hire and post-hire Vertical Downflow pipe brazing tests on various metals (stainless steel, copper, brass).
• Read and interpret production drawings, blueprints, work orders and related instructions.
• Proficient in operating metalworking machinery and hand tools used in brazing and fabrication.
• Follow safety policies, maintain quality, and meet production quotas within Johnson Controls processes.

Responsibilities

• Apply fit up, fabricate, and braze per standard models.
• Set up headers in jigs or fixtures and clamp them for brazing.
• Prepare brazing equipment, torch, filler rod, flux, and gases per material specs.
• Inspect brazing joints for leaks and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Read drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and environment.
