Summit BHC seeks a Behavioral Health Technician I for weekend shifts at Highland Hospital in Charleston, WV. You will work under a licensed nurse, monitor patient behaviors, provide continuous care, assist with daily living activities, and participate in educational groups as part of the treatment team.

Onsite position requiring a high school diploma, CPR, and de-escalation/restraint certification, with preference for prior experience with the target population.

Qualifikationen

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience with the population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and dual diagnosis helpful.

Aufgaben

• Ensures patient safety and a structured environment under supervision.
• Assists with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, grooming, meals).
• Performs safety checks and follows supervision guidelines.
• Monitors patients for contraband and protects belongings.
• Interacts with patients and reports observations to supervisor.
• Engages patients in therapeutic activities and groups.
• Records vital signs and notifies clinical team of changes.
• Documents in patient records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques and assists with restraints if needed.
• Supports unit organization, admissions/discharges, and incident reporting.
• Arranges patient transfer/transport and communicates shift reports.
