Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Clinician to provide leadership and clinical support to patients and staff in the emergency department and inpatient units. The role emphasizes crisis leadership, discharge planning, and collaborative care within the hospital system.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in social work, psychology, counseling or related field, are licensed as LCSW/LMFT/LPC, and CPR certified.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related mental health discipline with an emphasis on clinical experience.
• Three years experience past Master’s in the mental health field.
• Licensed as a LCSW, LMFT, or LPC.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation, guidance and leadership to patients and staff in the emergency departments.
• Provides consultation to inpatient patients for evaluation and placement of care recommendations.
• Assist in diagnosis, assessment, risk assessments and placement of patients in ED and inpatient floors.
• Ensures discharge plans for behavioral health patients.
• Supports psychiatrists and APRNs within the medical model.
• Participates in quality improvement by identifying issues and analyzing data.
• Provides in-services and educational services to non-BH staff.
• Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements (TJC, Medicare, Medicaid, GA requirements).
• Assumes leadership role in a crisis.
• Completes clinical documentation to meet standards.
