Job summary

American Senior Communities, LLC’s Hickory Creek at Winamac is seeking an Activities Assistant to support residents’ daily living and well-being on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm.

You will work with a team to provide compassionate care, assist onboarding of new teammates, and encourage participation in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional health. A CNA background is preferred, with opportunities to pursue CNA certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with geriatric population is preferred.
• CNA certification is preferred. Must be open to getting CNA certification within the first six (6) months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Make a difference in residents' lives by providing care and compassion.
• Act as a positive teammate and assist in onboarding new teammates.
• Encourage residents to participate in daily activities to support wellness.
• Motivate residents to take an active part in their health and wellness.
• Assist with activities for residents based on needs and backgrounds.
• Recruit, organize, train and recognize volunteers to expand the activity program.
• Involve families, community, and volunteers to increase participation.
