Job summary

Wilson Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Wilson, NC is hiring an Activities Assistant for weekends (Sat and Sun, 8am-5pm). Join a supportive team with a robust benefits package including health/dental/vision, PTO, 401(k) and more.

The role involves designing engaging programs to meet residents’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs while coordinating with volunteers and maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.
• CNA Certified in the state of North Carolina.
• Activity Assistant experience in a Long Term Care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan activities that meet resident needs for large groups, small groups and individuals.
• Observe and report attendance, participation, and behavior by documentation.
• Support care plans with information and observations of residents' needs and preferences.
• Coordinate activity programs with community volunteers and assign tasks.
• Meet and greet new residents upon arrival.
• Maintain infection control and safety precautions at all times.
• Uphold residents' comfort, privacy and dignity with warmth and respect.
• Interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Respond to call lights promptly and courteously in care areas.
• Raise resident concerns to appropriate department head.
• Attend departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
