Job summary

Johns Island Post Acute is seeking an Activities Assistant to support weekend programming for our 132-bed skilled nursing and rehab facility in Johns Island, SC. You will assist with planning engaging activities, outings, and in-room options to enrich residents' daily lives.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Long-term care or nursing home experience preferred.
Positive attitude and outgoing personality.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist the Activity Director in creating and leading fun, interactive programs for residents.
Plan and conduct individual, small group, and large group activities.
Encourage participation in crafts, games, music, reading, hobbies, and special events.
Assist with resident outings and transportation as needed.
Help develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
Provide one-on-one and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or prefer quieter engagement.
Assist with resident assessments, care plans, and documentation as assigned.
Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
