Job summary

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) is seeking a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from initiation through completion. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with WECA's goals.

The role serves as a liaison among stakeholders, fostering cross-department communication and risk management. Living in Wisconsin is required; primary office is in Fitchburg, WI with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of project management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft products.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication; highly organized.
  • Willingness to travel and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Track project progress, assess risks and mitigate.
  • Facilitate communication among team members and WECA leadership.
  • Lead project teams by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities.
  • Monitor project expenses and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with WECA programs to define outcomes and measures.
  • Support grant writing, evaluation, reports, and policies.

Salary Range: $63,000.00 - $68,000.00 Salary/year


Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin's children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.


Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin's young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early child care. WECA's mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin's young children through a rich continuum of services.


Project Manager Role

WECA is looking for a Project Manager to join our team! The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals. The Project Manager serves as a liaison among stakeholders, facilitates communication across departments, manages risks, and drives project execution to achieve intended outcomes.


Living in the state of Wisconsin is required for this position.


This position supports WECA's work state-wide. Primary office is in Fitchburg, WI with hybrid work options.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Track project progress, assessing risks and issues and developing mitigation strategies.

  • Facilitate communication among team members, including WECA leadership regarding project progress.

  • Lead project teams by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities.

  • Monitor project expenses, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.

  • Collaborate with all WECA programs to identify clear program outcomes, indicators, and measurement methods.

  • Collect information and research to support grant writing, evaluation requirements, reports, and policy/procedures for WECA.

  • Provide minor supervisory oversight to staff responsible within projects.

  • Other duties as assigned to support WECA.


Qualifications & Education & Required Skills


  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of project management experience

  • Experience with Microsoft products

  • A strong commitment to supporting WECA's mission

  • Able to communicate effectively, including strong written and interpersonal skills, work independently, take initiative, problem solve, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions

  • Must be incredibly organized and detailed oriented with strong ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • This position may involve travel; access to a vehicle and valid driver's license is required
