Job summary

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is seeking a part-time Bilingual Food Program Area Coordinator to monitor CACFP participants in family childcare homes across Dane, Milwaukee, Kenosha and Racine counties. The role requires English/Spanish fluency and independent work, with a hybrid arrangement from a home office in the Milwaukee area.

The position covers Wisconsin and includes duties to recruit providers, disseminate compliance materials, complete visit forms, and coordinate with WECA

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • In depth knowledge of early childcare programs preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong reporting skills.
  • Must be able to travel to assigned counties in WI.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor CACFP participants in family childcare homes for compliance.
  • Recruit and enroll childcare providers into the WECA CACFP.
  • Disseminate written materials and assist providers with non-compliances.
  • Complete home visit forms and coordinate with Madison support staff.
  • Provide nutrition education materials and support annual nutrition components.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin’s children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin’s young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early childcare. WECA’s mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin’s young children through a rich continuum of services.The WECA Food Program is looking for (1) part-time Bilingual Food Program Area Coordinators. The Food Program Area Coordinators are responsible for monitoring visits for WECA Food Program participants on the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to ensure compliance with all program policies and procedures.This is a part-time position that comes with limited benefits. (see below)Being fluent in English/Spanish is required for this position. In depth knowledge of early childcare programs is required for this position.This is a hybrid position, working from your home office and going out into the childcare programs to complete the monitoring visits.Living in the Milwaukee area is preferred. Living in the state of Wisconsin is required for this position.This position will cover the following counties: Dane, Milwaukee, Kenosha & Racine.By joining our amazing team, you help WECA carry out its important mission and in return, here is what we will do for you.Benefits:401K- Company matches 100% for the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%.Duties & Responsibilities:Monitor WECA CACFP participants in their family childcare homes for compliance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) regulations concerning the CACFPRecruit and enroll childcare providers into the WECA CACFPDisseminate written program compliance materials and forms needed to meet program requirements and assist providers with recognizing and remedying of non-compliances; Must provide documentation and tracking of non-complianceReview and instruct providers on forms to be retained by provider for program documentationComplete required home visit forms, online monitoring, and provide information for the WECA Madison support staffProvide written nutrition materials and instruct providers on the nutrition education component required annuallyCommunicate between participating providers and WECA claims staff for consistent and efficient performance of USDA requirementsMaintain knowledge of CACFP requirements through trainings and conference callsWECA Community Responsibilities:Contribute to the creation of a positive and team-oriented work environmentDemonstrate constructive interpersonal skillsParticipate in professional development relative to work performance and professional growthParticipate actively in team and organizational functionsConduct self in a professional manner within the early care and education community and WECA’s extended networkPay rate: $49.00 per visit + $100 per month for office time + $21.02 per hour for meetings and training & .51 per mile.Education & Required Skills:High school diploma or equivalent and course workMust be bilingual in English/SpanishAbility to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and attend to multiple tasksAbility to communicate effectively on the phoneAbility to communicate effectively in writingAbility to attend to detail-oriented work, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutionsKnowledge of the childcare and early care and education system and workforce in WisconsinExperience with Microsoft Office programs, data entry, word processing, specifically Word, Excel, and Access programsWisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) does not discriminate in employment on the basis of age, race, religion, color, handicap, sex, physical condition, development disability, sexual orientation or national origin.
