The role focuses on analyzing the current application landscape, preserving SOAP interfaces and security mechanisms, and delivering technical documentation, service catalogs, and stakeholder workshops to ensure a smooth lift-and-shift with Java upgrades.

Qualifications

• Experience administering IBM WebSphere 8.5.5 and configuring complex deployments.
• Knowledgeable in Tomcat configuration and migration considerations for Java-based apps.
• Proficiency with Java 6 through current long-term support versions and related tooling.
• Familiarity with SOAP-based services, WSDLs, and XML Schema definitions.

Responsibilities

• Perform current state assessment of IBM WebSphere environments and document topology and configurations.
• Lead WebSphere to Tomcat migration analysis and capture required changes for migration.
• Map dependencies and upstream/downstream integrations, including database interactions and data flows.
• Assess security, authentication/authorization, and identity management implications of migration.
• Produce technical documentation: service catalogs, current/target state diagrams, risk and gap analyses.
• Collaborate with architects, middleware, and infrastructure teams and facilitate design reviews.
