Job Description:

Overview:
A traffic control worker directs traffic in or around a construction site, using signs or devices to manage traffic flow. Responsibilities include assembling, positioning, and maintaining traffic control devices. Effective communication with the public is essential. Training may be required according to TxDOT specifications.

Job Duties:

  • Direct traffic around construction sites using signs or devices
  • Assist in assembling, positioning, and maintaining traffic control devices
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to move throughout the construction site, including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Physical stamina for strenuous outdoor activities in various weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind)
  • Manual dexterity to handle equipment and materials
