Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial construction company in Texas, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to drive project success on heavy civil and waterworks initiatives. You will lead scheduling, budgeting, subcontracts, and document control while mentoring teams and ensuring safety and quality standards across complex projects in Irving.

The role requires a B.S. in a construction-related field, 5+ years of experience, strong Primavera skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in construction management, civil, mechanical engineering or related technical area.
  • Five+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Moderate to high proficiency with Primavera 3 and 6.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • English communication skills required.
  • Ability to apply algebra and geometry in construction math.
  • Valid driver's license and travel as needed.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure client satisfaction by identifying needs with support from a Project Manager.
  • Estimate, value engineer and develop project budgets with leadership input.
  • Facilitate subcontractor bid processes and document management.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs and project documentation workflows.
  • Negotiate subcontracts and material buyouts.
  • Plan, schedule and track project progress and costs.
  • Provide leadership and foster teamwork on projects.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure safety and compliance on all project activities.

Senior Project Engineer

Webber, an industry leader in construction and infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic Senior Project Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs with the support and direction from a Project Manager or Area Manager.
  • Estimate, value engineer and develop project budgets with the support and direction from a Project Manager.
  • Facilitate the subcontractor bid process to include processing, distribution and tracking of all project bidding documentation.
  • Utilize software programs and templates to process, distribute and track all project documentation.
  • Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout; develop and negotiate subcontracts.
  • Manage Submittal and RFI process.
  • Plan and schedule projects.
  • Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures and profits through project completion.
  • Perform project closeout.
  • Provide leadership through building relationships, motivating others, providing clear direction, and cooperative teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively; both written and verbal with support and direction from a Project Manager or other Senior Management.
  • Safety comes first! Required to complete work in a safe, efficient and accurate manner.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or related technical area.
  • Consideration will be given to those with five or more years of related experience as outlined in this job summary.
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 3 and 6.
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts.
  • Valid driver license for occasional, required travel.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
