Job summary

Ferrovial's Webber subsidiary in the United States invites an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our crew. You will smooth, level and finish freshly poured concrete at job sites, contributing to safe, durable structures for our clients.

This on-site role requires attention to detail and teamwork; training is available, and candidates with a High School Diploma or GED are welcome. Day-to-day work involves following safety policies and using hand and power tools in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in concrete finishing desirable.
  • Ability to read and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure concrete surfaces.
  • Set and check the forms that hold concrete to ensure they are well constructed.
  • Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
  • Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
  • Mold expansion joints.
  • Pour concrete ensuring that it is level and smooth.
  • Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
  • Mix and apply cementitious materials for the repair of surface defects in cured concrete.
  • Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Concrete Finisher

Supervisor : Foreman

General Description of Position : Responsible for smoothing out, leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete at job or construction sites. Perform repairs on cures concrete.

Essential functions and responsibilities listed below :
