Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is seeking a Web Systems Engineer II to develop new web applications and enhance existing ones, ensuring smooth information transfer between BCBSMS business systems. This on-site role is based in Flowood, MS, and focuses on preventing disruptions through proactive engineering.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in OO programming, 2+ years with Java/JSP/SQL, and experience with HTML/JS/CSS/JSON/XML, REST services, and CICD tools such as Jenkins.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field required.
• 2+ years in object oriented programming environment.
• 5+ years of full development life cycle experience.
• 2+ years experience using Java, JSP, and SQL.
• 2+ years experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JSON and XML.
• Experience with source control tools (Jenkins, SVN, Git).
• Experience creating and consuming REST services.

Responsibilities

• Develop new web applications and enhance existing ones to promote effective information transfer between BCBSMS business systems.
• Identify and implement methods to prevent technical problems that could disrupt business activities.
• Perform systems and business function analysis in support of business areas.
