WebFX is seeking an intern for our web development team in Harrisburg, PA. This in-person internship targets current college students or recent grads with strong academics and a passion for web development.

No experience required—start building real-world skills alongside senior mentors. You will contribute to client projects using the LAMP stack, WordPress, and related open-source tools while learning to communicate technical ideas to teammates and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in progress or completed; all majors welcome.
• GPA 3.4 or higher.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of at least one open-source CMS (e.g., WordPress).
• Familiarity with OO and procedural programming.
• Familiarity with PHP/MySQL.
• Knowledge of IDEs such as Eclipse.
• Eagerness to learn and be trained.

Responsabilités

• Work alongside full-time web developers on client projects.

About the Internship

WebFX is seeking an intern for our web development team! Our ideal candidate is either a current college student or a recent college grad, with a history of strong academics, and an interest in pursuing a career in web development. Classroom-level coding skills are expected, but no experience is required - as an intern, you're here to start building that experience!

Internship Logistics: What to Know

• This is an in-person internship, based at our riverside campus in Harrisburg, PA

• This internship is flexible with hours and days - we will work with our interns to determine a schedule that is a mutual fit

• Interns will enjoy their own work space and tech set-up at our office, along with the ability to wear jeans/casual dress to work each day

The Qualifications: Who You Are

Education

• A Bachelor's Degree: Either in Progress or Completed

  • All Majors Welcome!

• GPA: 3.4 or above

Suggested Experience and Skills

• Strong communication skills

• Knowledge of at least one open-source CMS platform (for example, Wordpress, etc)

• Familiarity with both object-oriented and procedural programming methodologies

• Familiarity with PHP/MySQL

• Knowledge of IDEs, such as Eclipse

• Eagerness to learn and be trained!

The Internship Responsibilities: What You'll Learn to Do

Under the guidance of senior-level mentors, interns in this position can expect to:

• Work alongside our full-time web developers to assist them in various client projects and assignments

• Program, implement, test, and support a variety of web-based projects using the LAMP solution stack of software

• Perform debugging and problem-solving across a wide variety of open-source platforms (Wordpress, etc)

• Troubleshoot web browser issues

• Gain practice in explaining technical ideas and designs to peers and management
