Job summary

American Family Insurance offers a department/division internship focused on establishing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives. Under supervision, you will work on projects supporting business area goals, collaborating to provide apps meeting business needs with front end (Angular/React) and API (Express/NestJS) tech.

You will work in a hybrid role, with a minimum of 10 days per month from the Madison, WI office, and must reside within 50 miles of the location.

Qualifications

Familiarity with customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Basic knowledge of application design and development standards.
Understanding of SDLC and testing.
Experience with front end technologies like Angular or React and API tech like Express or NestJS.

Responsibilities

Design and develop solutions with Senior Engineer.
Understand system dependencies and impacts of changes.
Document design decisions, estimates, modules, and metrics.
Define and participate in testing (unit, integration).
Collaborate to verify data usage and process effectiveness.
Ensure software development meets standards for programming, design, performance, quality, and security.
Participate in team activities and take on extra tasks as needed.
Create and maintain system documentation.
